Fox Suspension FAQs

Choosing the right Fox Suspension kit requires you to consider a few factors. The most obvious is that you’ll need to choose one that’s built for your truck’s make and model specifications. You can filter to find the options for your Chevrolet, Ford or Ram, then look for the year and model you’re driving.

Once you’re looking at the Fox Suspension options for your unique specifications, you’ll then need to narrow down your options. Lift kits and suspension upgrades each offer unique benefits. Lift kits raise the body of your vehicle, leaving the bottom at the same height it was when you first bought it. This gives you a heightened view and perspective while driving.

Suspension upgrades raise the frame of your truck itself, not including the axles and lower control arms, meaning your ground clearance is increased along with the cab of your vehicle. If you’re using your truck primarily on tarmac, a lift kit will deliver better handling while full suspension is ideal for better performance when you’re taking your truck off the beaten track.

Once you’ve decided which option suits the needs of your vehicle and how you like to drive, you’ll then need to consider how much more height you want. Increased suspension is an especially beneficial upgrade for trucks heading off onto rugged terrain on a regular basis, reducing the chances of damage to the base of your vehicle. Fox Suspension offers lift kits and suspension upgrades anywhere from 1.0 inch up to an impressive 3.0 inches.

Fox Suspension kits are designed to withstand everything your journey and you throw at them. With a history that stems from off-road racing origins, they’re incredibly hard-wearing. They're built with resilient materials like aluminium alloy, which helps to disperse heat more effectively and is more corrosive resistant.

How long they’ll last depends on use - including where you’re driving and how far. Any heavy-duty offroading will naturally take more of a toll on them, while on-road driving is less impactful.

Fox Suspension has a general guideline to check on the state of your suspension and shocks every 80,000 to 100,000 kilometres you drive. If you’re offroading, check them more regularly, around the 16,000 to 20,000 kilometre mark.

Fox Suspension kits offer a broad range of height versatility, facilitating more control over how you like to drive. As mentioned, the nature of the upgrade you want will likely vary depending on how and where you like to drive.

Similarly, the height you want will also vary. Fox Suspension designed their gear to give you precise control over how high you want to go. Many have options to lift anywhere from 0 inches up to 2 inches, while others can go as high as 3.5 inches. This better allows you to find the perfect balance, whether you’re primarily driving on the dirt and tarmac or traversing rugged offroad conditions.

The actual specifications can vary depending on the type of truck you’re driving, but these hard-wearing and versatile kits have an exceptional lifting option for every model.

Along with your engine and tyres, your 4X4 Fox Suspension will need some ongoing maintenance as well. It’s worth getting it checked when you get your truck serviced each year. You’ll also want to ensure it’s been installed correctly. If you order from ORI, you can visit one of our authorised installers and have it taken care of.

Fox also recommends doing your own checks after 16,000 to 20,000 kilometers of driving, especially if you’re offroading frequently. If you notice any leakage or visible damage to your shocks, you should check in with a mechanic to ensure they’re still up to the job.
